Money Matters for Makers - Understanding Entities and Financials
Building on the first installment of our Money Matters for Makers series, this session dives into the nuts and bolts of how to structure your creative business and set up the financial tools you’ll need to thrive. We’ll cover the different types of business entities (sole proprietorship, LLC, corporation) and what they mean for taxes, liability, and long-term growth. From there, we’ll walk through the fundamentals of financial tracking so you can keep your creative practice organized and sustainable. Coming to part 1 is not a prerequisite to joining this class.
Together, we’ll set up QuickBooks, explore basic accounting concepts, and show you how to create systems that make money management less intimidating and more empowering. Whether you’re selling at craft fairs, running a studio, or planning to scale, this class will give you a clear framework for making financial decisions with confidence.
Pre-work: Please download QuickBooks before class. We’ll use the session to set up your account and tailor it to your business needs.
