Workshop Description:
Explore the art of Kurinuki, the Japanese technique of carving vessels from a single block of clay. In this workshop with Diana, you'll focus on creating boxes and trays using dark clay bodies and basic pottery tools. After shaping your pieces, we’ll break for a long lunch to let them set up. Upon returning, you’ll decorate your creations with slip and simple carving techniques that Diana will demonstrate. This is a great hands-on experience that is perfect for all skill levels. Pieces will be fired and ready for pick up after April 15.
