Branch weaving uses found branches as a natural frame to create woven art pieces. It’s simple, tactile, and a great way to turn a branch from your hike at the Yuba into something structured and lasting.

Kaci will teach a lesson on how to turn an ordinary branch into a loom for tapestry weaving. No prior weaving experience required. She will lead us on the basic steps of setting up the warp, starting your weaving, transitioning from one color to another, as well as finishing techniques. You'll learn everything you need to know to complete the project on your own, and have plenty of time during the retreat to weave.

BYOB (Bring your own branch) or find one on your hike along the Yuba river. Having a good branch is an integral part of the process and Kaci will provide backup branches as needed.
