Workshop Description:

In this workshop, we will use coiling, a traditional fiber art technique, to build a small vessel. Beginning with a flat spiral and progressing into three dimensions, participants will create a small bowl while learning how material, method, and structure interact.

By the end of class you will have learned the fundamentals of coiling, understand how to shape flat spirals and develop into three dimensions and complete a small coiled bowl.

About the Instructor

Antonia Price

Fiber Artist and Instructor

Antonia Price is a fiber artist based in Sacramento, California, where she works from her home studio in Curtis Park. She creates abstract sculptures using natural materials such as yarns, twine, paper core, and reed. Rooted in traditional handcrafts including knitting, crochet, and basketry, her work explores the meditative rhythm and quiet focus found in tactile, repetitive making.

Guided by simple stitches and counting patterns, Price builds intricate three-dimensional forms from humble materials. This gradual transformation from simplicity to complexity reflects her interest in attention, presence, and the grounding nature of craft.

Price studied fiber art at California State University, Los Angeles. Her practice continues to honor the lineage of handcraft.

By signing up for a class, you agree to these policies:

You may cancel a class for a full refund or class credit 14 days before the start date of the class. 

All scheduled classes and workshops start and end on time. Please be prompt in your arrival and departure, as we often have other classes starting after yours. Arriving 15 minutes late to a class counts as a no-show, and no make up class will be offered. Instructors are subject to change.

We reserve the right to cancel any class due to low enrollment or unforeseen conflicts. If a class is cancelled, we will do our best to reschedule the session.  If you are unable to attend the rescheduled class, you will be issued a refund. 

Please note that we may take photos during the workshop to use on social media.  If you do wish to be photographed, please let the teacher know when you arrive.

There is a metered parking lot very close to the Tinnery, please ensure you have coins to pay the meter, as it does not accept cards.
