Beginning Sewing
Do you have a sewing machine and not sure how to use it? Bring it to this class, learn how to thread it, make bobbins, troubleshoot your machine and make two linen tea towels.
Items to bring with you:
sewing machine, scissors, white thread
About the instructor:
Della Heywood brings her skills as a visual artist back to her original creative roots of sewing. At the age of four, watching her grandmother making a dolly dress on a treadle sewing machine, she discovered the miracle of making something wonderful out of nothing.
Since then, she taught herself to sew everything from tailored suits to fanciful children’s clothing and costumes.
We wear and use fabrics every day! Why not create items that are singularly ours, and unique expressions of our tastes and sense of style and comfort. Start simple, and learn the basics. You’ll be surprised what you can do!

By signing up for a class, you agree to these policies:
You may cancel a class for a full refund or class credit 14 days before the start date of the class.
All scheduled classes and workshops start and end on time. Please be prompt in your arrival and departure, as we often have other classes starting after yours. Arriving 15 minutes late to a class counts as a no-show, and no make up class will be offered. Instructors are subject to change.
We reserve the right to cancel any class due to low enrollment or unforeseen conflicts. If a class is cancelled, we will do our best to reschedule the session. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled class, you will be issued a refund.
Please note that we may take photos during the workshop to use on social media. If you do wish to be photographed, please let the teacher know when you arrive.
